The grapes for this vintage were harvested from the Gabrielow farm which is about 6 miles south and west of our estate, a short walk from the lakeshore.  Michael has a small planting of Dijon clone 76 developed from the Puligny-Montrachet village in the Burgundy region of France.  Judiciously fermented in French oak barrels, it is reminiscent of the wines we made from our former Avonlea vineyard.  Taste fresh ripe yellow apples, hazelnuts, vanilla, baking spice, toasted bread and lemon curd.  Great with rich poultry, fish or pork dishes, mushrooms, cream sauce or popcorn and a movie!
