This vintage was made from grapes grown in the Shawnee Vineyard, a vineyard prettily situated in the rolling Moraine hills of Berrien County.  We whole-cluster pressed the fruit which had ripened under sunny summer skies.  The resulting wine is finished dry, (not sweet), and the aromatics in the glass remind you of meadow flowers.  On the tongue find hints of mandarin orange, ginger and classic stony elements which pair favorably with local fresh-water fishes such as walleye or perch.  Also goes well with smoked seafood, pork, cheeses or simply prepared vegetables and salads, or asian soy-sauced dishes as long as they lack excessive chili heat.
